Trans Lucy 2

Trans Lucy 2, the not really anticipated sequel to the lack-luster Trans Lucy, envokes from within me but one question: Trans Lucy 1 was really that successful? In truth, I'm glad it was. Read More...

Scifi Network offers Immortality to Contestants

The Scifi Network has launched a new series hosted by Stan Lee, entitled: Who Wants to be a Super Hero? Though the title may seem a bit cliché (took me a while to figure out how to type that E there...) It's really a well done show, and quite entertaining to watch. It's available on iTunes and currently the pilot episode is free.

The Amazing Screw-On Head

It's crazy just how great the pilot was... I've watched it three times now. Twice on SciFi.com, and once last night when it aired on television for the first time. The show is based on a one-shot comic book created by the creator of Hellboy, Mike Mignola. It details some of America's most secret of histories: The strange adventures of President Lincon's top spy, The Amazing Screw-on Head. Screw-On Head, or Screw-On, or Head for short, is apparently some kind of mechanized... robot or something. Apparently everything that gives Screw-On life is contained within the head, as he is often seen without body at all. As you might guess, his ability is to be screwed into and thus control a variety of different bodies. What makes that situation even more bizarre is that he is also apparently several hundred years old! And thats by Lincoln's Day!

New Paint

We're painting my desk again so I've set up shop in another room. Thinking I should spend as little time as possable in the room filled with paint fumes, I moves my xbox 360 too. There being no TV in the room, I'm using me mac as the primary display for all things 360... I don't know, I felt I should document my work. Check it out below:

Red

Creative title, no? Ok, I'm not in the mood, just wanted to give the heads-up that most of that last post was really pretty bogus... I just don't believe in editing old posts... feels like changing the history, and without history, how can we hope to learn from the past? Too philosophical?

Anyway, back to the point I was trying to make, when I wrote the last post I was looking at my new... well, more-hacked-than-before .css file, and was referring to my success in deciphering some of the many mysteries of the .css file. Regardless, I realize now, nobody saw it. I never uploaded it, and have thought better of it due to some of its flaws. Just to make me happy though I've switched to red, one of the styles I found included within the .rwtheme file. Any-who.... in the unlikely event someone reads these posts.... Just trying to keep you all posted as to my progress! I'm gonna make some pop corn and sit down to a good episode of Blade: The Series now.

Also, just wanted to say Intend to make a short film based on my favorite character from the game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Amusei. Least I think thats his name... I've thought of a great many Oblivion related projects I might want to take on, and he may end up the mascot of those endeavors.... Yeah, I like that... I could like do everything from the perspective of Amusei...

Right! Blade! back to that then, more on my Amusei films or w/e later.

Some Results at Last

So far I've deciphered the majority of the inner-workings of these .rwtheme files. Whilst fooling around in one, I found .css files unused but theme as far as I could tell, though I find it curious that these .css files seem to be managed from a property list within the .rwtheme file. Suggesting, as I know you're thinking, that someone intended for these different .css files to be easily swapped, perhaps from within RapidWeaver, though I have seen no such option myself, and have had to edit the .plist file manually to change the path to the desired .css file. Reguardless, here is the first attempt at crafting my own .css, and bg images to boot! I somewhat like it, though it may require review, and as you might have noticed it still borrows heavily from the style of the original. So, just a quick update on that front. Seeing as how I did all of this today it is more than likely you noticed none of it.... oh well.... still working on the lightbox thing too, more on that later Winking

More theme Dev.

Ok, no... this time I swear... It'll work... It has to... must link...

try this...

drat... RW wants to tells me whats to do... keeps changing the code for the pic from rel="lightbox" to rel="self" clearly you can see that problem with that... so I'll make my own little photo album page and take the HTML from that, then make a custom page in RW (so rw doesn't screw with the html) and then presto! Should work, give me a sec...

wait.... no.... thats bogus... hmm... aha! "tided" code! RW is trying to fix my mistakes! now I'll just go ahead and turn that off and presto!

What!? Noo! Damn you! Stop that! no rel="self"! No more I say!

Drat again...
Hmm.... Check out this line...
presto!

Perplexing, It did indeed keep the rel="lightbox" but then went ahead and apparently ignored it! perhaps if I rearrange it so that the rel statement comes after the title or have no title at all... like so

nope... Oh, this is frustrating... well, at least I got the page looking a bit different today, as you might have noticed, the old blue part is now purple... maybe I'll change that to red or green or something.... ( I found css files left behind in FreeJay) maybe I'll attempt my own.... who knows? but I'm tired of this for now...

RW Theme Development

I've begun the task of learning to develop custom themes for RapidWeaver, the .app that built the site before you. In fact, this is the current build of the TastyBuffalo Theme! Now, an utterly small percentage of you may say, "hey! isn't this the FreeJay theme?" and yes, thus far to get the project off the ground as soon as possible, I've taken the "FreeJay" theme as my template; for now at the very least. Now... for those of you who know the "FreeJay" theme well, you may even say, "Cameron you lazy good-for-nothing, you haven't done a damn thing!" And to that I would say, "I most certainly have! It's just all under the hood!" And that would indeed be the case. As of now, the only real modification I have attempted is the instalation of a "lightbox" system into the theme... alow me to demonstrate... erhem... yes... wait for it...

ok, maybe later...

Quick Check-in

Just wanted to say that the CylonBum Battlestar Countdown Widget is about to go live.... -er... It's actually been there a while, but noones downloaded it, presumably because they don't know about it... So I'm giving apple the heads up, and considering that this widget actually has some functionality, you know.... does stuff... they should be thrilled.. I mean, if they accepted the last one, they're bound to take this one too!

In other news, I'd like to announce my plans to build my own custom theme for the site, you know, instead of using all these cookie-cutter ones...

Well, thats it, night for now.

P.S. Just finished filling out the widget submission form, seems like everything in there has changed a great deal since I was last there, which is saying something cuz I was there mere weeks ago. This time they required an ADC log in, which I do not remember from last time, and seemed to have a stream-lined set-up for the submission of screenshots. (last time they instructed me to email it directly to them) Anyway, they have a cool new page for tracking all submissions I've made. Or rather, my mother has made... for you see, one must technically be 18 to obtain this elite status.... and I am a mere 17 years of age... reguardless, I've got stargate to watch Winking

The Search Begins

In an effort to better track project CylonBum's Success, research has begun to find every reference to "CylonBum" on the world-wide web. Saying that may sound old fashioned, "world-wide web" was a term used heavily during the popularization of the internet, to advertise it's size. Now-a-days that seems silly, people want the internet condensed, indexed and listed in order of importance. (Via Google) People should note thats not the whole thing, and though its debatable whether the use of search engines these days has indeed narrowed our view of the internet, I think you have to keep in mind the internet includes networks of such massive size, that scanning through it all might seem silly. Silly though it may be, it falls upon people like myself to bring to light information that might otherwise be hidden. So, I've started up my own little web-crawler. Much like Google, my computer is currently scanning the internet itself, searching for any and all references to the "CylonBum" project. Every page it scans renders new links to more pages that shall be scanned. As you might imagine, this whole process may take a while, but should render outstanding results that I shall share in the next few days. Just for a little taste of what's to come, so far the thing is up to 4600 pages, 58 documents. And just to clarify, I'm using the industrial strength search technology that is DEVONagent.

DEVONagent is something I intend to use for my next few posts, to render so hard facts built on a concensus of gosip, like that new iPod everyone's been talking about... Winking

UPDATE: The initial search is complete, and 62,341 pages have been found in connection with "ClyonBum" along with 133 documents. Needless to say, it will take a while to sift through all this information, but heres a cool chart thing of all topics found to be apparently in relation to CylonBum

Research continues into why exactly "CylonBum" relates in any way, shape, or form to the Quran... (the holy book of Islam)

Ubuntu

I'm told it's a reference to some word used by some culture in Africa. Meaning something like World-Peace or something, it's a distro of Linux I've been hearing a whole bunch about. So, for some reason I decided to take it upon myself to instal it on my laptop. As far as I can tell, that part went well enough, or at least seemed to. I had the whole thing up and running before I realized that there's no driver for the airport extreme card in my laptop...
Well, with the internet out of the picture, my first true for-ay (sp?) into linux didn't go so well, and I've already got Tiger reinstalled on there. If anyone can think of a better distro for a 17" powerbook G4 with an airport extreme card and all, I'm ready and willing to try again. Also, I'd appreciate one with a Majong app pre-installed. That's all I got going on ubuntu but I liked it.
So yeah, any suggestions, go ahead and post a comment or something. Lord knows I get lots of those.

Cylon Sighting

It's clear to me that if this were ancient Rome, Eygpt, or something like that, I would have been declared a minor deity by now. (If not god of gods) Whilst writing my last post, It occurred to me that someone might have already done a widget to count down the days, hours, min, and sec until my beloved battlestar galactica returns to my television... (and computer and ipod for that matter) This is when I noticed there was but one other battlestar widget indeed, and it certainly puts mine in it's place. Curious about a group capable of creating such a refined widget, I clicked on a link leading to their site, galacticaa.net I liked the first thing I saw, (being an apple fan) an ipod. but at some point I must have scrolled down a bit, for at some point I caught the shiny tip of something in the image in the post below the first. I did what can be best described as a double-take, for when I scrolled down to see.... there it was! ZOMG! It's my widget! they're talking about MY widget! This is fantastic! I'm overwhelmed! I feel like a celebrity! they even refer to TastyBuffalo! hehehe... This has been a fun moment for me. If you don't believe me, check the site or the screenie below.

A stroke of genius

Out of nowhere comes a brilliant idea. Alright, it wasn't totally out of the blue, but it was clever. I was working on the CylonBum widget, Trying in vain to get him to speak... When I realized Dashcode has a quick and easy set-up for making countdown widgets. So I slapped together a widget that counts down to the beginning of season 3. hooray! I'll submit it to Apple soon-ish.
Picture 4

In other news, I was working on the CylonBum Widget, like I said, working on getting him to talk, when I realized that though the current version cannot play the "ByYourCommand.wav" file included within it, It still has the damn thing. By taking it out I can greatly reduce it's size and save the MacDock people a little bandwidth. So I'll be releasing that soon. Maybe.

Further oddities in my records

Please, if you have children, cover their eyes...

If you are a child... well, find someone to cover your eyes...

What I'm about to report is strange beyond belief... and funny...

Whilst scouring my records I found another site linking to my own; yes, I'm quite popular. This time it's the google of the UK... But what stuck me as odd was what the fellow must have been looking for when he found my blog...

Note, he or she has apparently searched the phrase "she's hungry"

She's Hungry? I did use those exact words in one of my posts, in reference to Krista from Blade: The Series. But what was this bloke looking for I wonder? I'll leave that to you fine people out there to decide.

Blade: The Series 2

Just wanted to let you all know, as I did cover the pilot of the series, that the pilot episode I mentioned as being free, is no longer so. It now seems to apear as two seperate episodes. as another note, there are two more episodes in addition to the pilot episodes. So, whereas it was once just one free episodes, it is now 4 episodes at $2/ea.
